Hotel

New Hotels are now available for attendees (You must be registered for the meeting before you will be able to reserve your hotel room).

The 2007 Joint Meeting will take place at two properties: the Gaylord Palms Resort (Sold Out!) and the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort (Sold Out!), both of which offer a unique combination of meeting facilities and resort amenities. Joint Meeting educational sessions, speakers and special events will be split between the two properties. Placement will take place in the Gaylord Palms; the Exhibit Hall will be located in the Marriott. ACPA and NASPA suites will be in both locations.

Note: The Joint Meeting will not utilize the Orlando Convention Center; the Convention Center is in a different part of Orlando.

Hotel Shuttle Service

Complete shuttle schedule will be posted in January. At this time, shuttle service will be provided between the Marriott and Gaylord hotels every 10 minutes. Shuttle service from the Radisson to the Marriott/Gaylord hotels will be provided during morning and evening hours.

    Airlines & Local Transportation

    Getting to Orlando

    There are two major airports serving the Orlando area:

    • Orlando International Airport (MCO) is located within 20 miles of the Joint Meeting hotels. Orlando International Airport serves most domestic and many international airline carriers. This is the primary airport serving the Orlando area.
    • Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) is located 18 miles northeast of Orlando and 40+ miles from the Joint Meeting Hotels. This airport primarily serves charter flights to and from the Orlando and central Florida area.

    Airline Information

    Airline discounts have not been negotiated for the 2007 Joint Meeting.

    Train

    Amtrak serves Orlando with two daily trains originating from New York and Miami with stops in downtown Orlando, Winter Park, Sanford and Kissimmee, as well as with a tri-weekly train originating from Los Angeles. Amtrak also offers the Auto Train, which transports passengers and their vehicles and features the comfort of bi-level Superliner sleepers, a diner and a lounge. The Auto Train runs daily between Lorton, Va., and Sanford, leaving each town at 4 p.m. and arriving at the destination at 8:30 a.m. the next morning.

    Hotel Shuttle Service

    The 2007 Joint Meeting will operate an extensive shuttle system for attendees. For more information, download the 2007 ACPA/NASPA Joint Meeting Shuttle Schedule.

    In addition to the published routes, the Joint Meeting will utilize specialized vans for those with mobility challenges. Please contact the Access Coordinator via the Joint Meeting Hospitality Desk in the Marriott or Gaylord if you require this assistance.

    Ground Transportation

    The Joint Meeting hotels are all within 20 miles of the Orlando International Airport and are 35 - 40 minutes from the airport (without traffic).

    The transportation options are outlined below. Joint Meeting attendees staying in the Port Orleans Resort may use Disney's complimentary Magical Express airport transportation service (see below).

    Shuttles

    Mears Transportation provides 24-hour shuttle service to and from the Orlando International Airport to the Joint Meeting hotel properties at a cost of $ 31.00 round trip or $ 19.00 one way for adults. A $ 4.00 discount coupon for a roundtrip ticket on the Mears airport shuttle is available for Joint Meeting attendees.

    Shuttles depart Orlando International Airport every 20-30 minutes and make multiple stops. Advance reservations from the airport are available but are not required. If you are staying at the Marriott, the World Center is the first stop from the airport.

    On your return, reservations are required for shuttles to the airport and must be made a minimum of 24 hours in advance. Please note that Mears recommends you allow 3 hours for domestic and 4 hours for international when planning your return to the airport. Keep this in mind if you plan to purchase a round trip shuttle ticket!

    Taxis

    Taxi service from the airport to the Joint Meeting hotels costs $ 45 - 60. Mears Transportation operates the Yellow Cab Company, the largest taxi service at the Orlando International Airport. If you are traveling in a group, a taxi may offer a faster and more direct route to your hotel for a similar price.

    Town Cars

    As an alternative to shuttle or taxi service, town cars are also available. Town car service is available for $ 65 - $75. The hotels recommend Mears Transportation Services for town car service. Reservations for a town car should be made in advance; a driver will meet you in baggage claim and take you to your hotel. Town cars can accommodate up to 4 passengers.     Disney's Magical Express Service (Port Orleans Guests Only)

    If you are staying at the Port Orleans, you can utilize Disney's Magical Express complimentary airport transportation. Disney's Magical Express provides complimentary shuttle and luggage service from Orlando International Airport to Disney Resorts. The complimentary service includes round-trip motor coach transportation and baggage handling between the airport and resorts, as well as an expedited airline check-in process for return domestic flights on select airlines.

    Although reservations are encouraged 30 days in advance, we have been assured that you can still make reservations for transportation from the airport to the Port Orleans as long as you do so prior to the day of your arrival by calling 407-827-6777. You will need your reservation confirmation number and flight information when you make your reservation. You may also need our group number G0487701.

    Rental Cars

    There are many car rental companies throughout the Orlando area and at Orlando International Airport. Contact information for the car rental agencies located in the Joint Meeting hotels is provided below:

    • Gaylord Palms: A Hertz Rental Car agency is located in the Gaylord Palms. Reservations can be made via the web at www.hertz.com or by phone at 1-800-586-2238. The direct number for the Hertz desk in the Gaylord is 407-586-2238.
    • Orlando World Center Marriott: An Enterprise Rent-A-Car service is located on site. The direct number for this location is 407-397-0800.
